East Timor Legal Information Site is an archive of legal news from national & international media, the Courts, Parliament, Government & law and justice civil society organisations. ETLIS commenced in April 2006 following the disintegration of the rule of law which caused widespread civil disorder, population displacement & a violent institutional conflict between the police force & the military. Before ETLIS was created there was no widely available legal news source dedicated to legal issues in East Timor. In July 2008, the function of compiling East Timor legal news was overtaken by the East Timor Law & Justice Bulletin blog. Readers wishing to follow recent legal news reports up to the present day, may visit the East Timor Law and Justice Bulletin.
