ASDT-FRETILN AGREEMENT 01 MAY 2008



Considering that,
ASDT and FRETILIN were created to defend the Liberty of the Fatherland and the People
From the first moment, the ASDT Party and the FRETILIN Party have always been at the forefront inspiring and organizing the people of Timor-Leste in their struggle against colonialism, corruption, and nepotism until the proclamation and the restoration of independence and the establishment of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste , as sovereign, democratic and legal,
In this era of freedom, the people of Timor-Leste are still watching a govenment where the prevailing nepotism, corruption, collusion, injustice and persecution of Maubere patriots - a situation that launched the people into a life without hope for a future of progress and freedom, suffocated by fear of power and the political uncertainty in economic development ,
Thus the parties ASDT and FRETILIN conscious of their responsibility and policy capability in defence of the people, this day, 1 May 2008, International Labor Day, at 16.00 hrs at the headquarters of the ASDT
in Lecidere in Dili, signed the Terms of Agreement of 1 May for the formation of the new Constitutional Government of RDTL.
For implementing this agreement the parties ASDT and FRETILIN briefly elaborated a policy platform that will govern programmes and ensure the ASDT proportionate participation and fairness in the composition of the National Parliament and the Government, including:
1. Vice-President of the National Parliament;
2. Deputy Prime Minister;
3. Minister of Telecommunications;
4. Minister of Tourism;
5. Minister of Transport and Commerce;
6. Secretary of State for Environment;
7. Secretary of State for Solidarity and
8. Secretary of State of the State Administration
This agreement is made with the intention of the two parties to prepare for a future coaltion in comformance with solidarity with national interests.
