On Saturday, May 10, 2008, the President of the National Parliament Mr. La Sama-Fernando de Araujo participated in the distribution of tractors in the village of Halecou, and suco Ritabou Ceremony From First Harvest in Poehdele, suco Odomau, Subdistrict of Maliana, district of Bobonaro. The following information was provided in his speech:
1. The President of the National Parliament Mr. La Sama-Fernando de Araujo expressed his congratulations to the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, the Ministry of directors and farmers of the District of Bobonaro to have chances of getting a first harvest in a time of global food crisis and wished that this reality will be an example for other districts;
2. He expressed congratulations to the people of Subdistrict of Maliana on gaining a larger irrigation project with a budget of 6 million from Japan;
3. It was said that the Government of RDTL had to establish markets for the products so the farmers can obtain good results;
4. The President of the National Parliament pointed out to the Prime Minister to give subsidies in order to make interventions to reduce the price of rice;
5. Equipment distributed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries had to be carefully looked after;
6. He asked that young people participate in the development process because the role of them was indispensable;
7. On behalf of the State apologised to the people of Bobonaro district, for having created the decision of the State of the Siege so that people suffered the violent actions of the Joint Force;
8. Informed the population that currently the elements of F-FDTL and PNTL are cooperating to create a stable situation for everyone;
9. He asked the people of the district of Bobonaro not to believe in rumours and issues about early election.

The Plenary Session of today was chaired by President of the National Parliament Mr. LaSama-Fernando de Araujo assisted by Vice-Chairman Vicente da Silva Guterres, Secretary of the Bureau Mrs. Maria Terezinha da Silva Viegas and Deputy Secretaries Mrs. Maria da Costa and Ms. Exposto Maria Teresa de Carvalho.
In the period before the Agenda were given the information to the session by the President of the Bureau on the presence of Excellency Prime Minister and the spreading of rumors about the thoughts of some groups to replace the flag of RDTL in the future. It was recommended to provide information for peace not to create confusion among the people, those rumors were false.
In the Agenda attended the Secretary of State Security Mr. Francisco Guterres to perform the presentation of the Draft Law in 4/II on "Information System of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste."
Consequently the Commission B had the presentation of the report and opinion by Commission President Mr. Nunes and Mr. Duarte Mr Paulo de Fatima Martins (Rapporteur):
After presentation of the report and opinion has been the continuation of the session with assessments and interventions of the parliamentary benches on the Draft Law in 4/II on "Information System of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste." This was approved with 31 votes in favour, 1 against and 2 abstentions.
Finally Mr. Chairman of the Board informed that the session tomorrow afternoon will be attended by Ministers of Trade, Industry and Labor, Justice and Agriculture and Fisheries for matters of national interests.
